The Idaho Falls Chukars announced Monday that right-handed pitcher Ryan Morgan and left-handed pitcher Aneidy Toribio will return to Idaho Falls this season. Both pitched for the Chukars in 2008.
Morgan was selected in the 26th round of the 2008 draft. He was the starting pitcher in his last 11 appearances of the season, going 0-4 with a 6.70 ERA.
Toribio is in his fifth summer of professional baseball, his second with the Royals organization. A starter in 15 of 16 appearances last year, he was 3-5 with a 4.67 ERA. Toribio was tied for eighth in the Pioneer League with 68 strikeouts.
The Royals will continue to release pitchers expected to play in Idaho Falls leading up to the draft June 9.
