The Royals’ Web site is reporting first-round pick and third overall pick Eric Hosmer will report to the team’s affiliate in Arizona instead of Idaho Falls, as expected. (Thanks to the anonymous commenter who pointed out the story.)
We’ll have to see if he’ll just finish out the remaining 12 games in Arizona and call it a summer. He could still come to the Chukars and play seven games after the Arizona Royals shut down for the season on Aug. 29. Or the parent club could shut him down and make him wait for the Fall Instructional League, which I think is more likely.
